We have a Shogun from 2007 and noted that the alarm was probably fitted by the supplying dealer or dock side when imported.....however it is a Cobra alarm and the actual unit is fitted under the floor where the back row of seats fold into (it's a 7 seater). Back to your issue, lift the bonnet and locate the pressure activated switch that is pressed down when the bonnet closes....ours is located on the same end of the bonnet as the hinges are fixed.......make sure it presses down when you close the bonnet.

Thanks for that, I did find the switch. It wouldn't press down, so I twisted the plastic plunger a quarter turn and now it moves in and out. I am not sure why it was in that position in the first place. It has been going off every day since I bought the car. The dealer has had it in and fitted a new battery, so plus there. Thanks again for your tip, it has confirmed that I am looking in the right direction. To be on the safe side I have ordered a new switch from Cobra.
