Does anyone else tow with the petrol spec struggling to find 85% kerb weight or min and max etc.

There should be a plate probably at the bottom of the driver's side B post, can you tell us what that states?

Those figures will not help .. they show the max Gross weight of the vehicle not the kerb weight.
The kerb weight is usually shown on the V5 which does not help if you have not bought it yet or can see the V5.

The OP asked about the petrol version which is about 200 kg lighter but as black-major hasn't come back with any vehicle details I presume he has found the answers elsewhere. At least we tried to help.

I own the 2.0 diesel version but had a look in the handbook. the 2.0 petrol has a braked towing capacity of 1400KG - 2WD or 1600KG - 4WD both have a noseweight of 75 KG .
