Hi all -

I've got a camping trailer and I want to carry a 12v / 240v camping fridge in it. The tow car has a standard single 7 pin socket.

The fridge itself would be approx. 3ft behind the boot of the tow car. The tow car doesn't have a 12v socket in the boot.

Is there an easy way of providing power to the fridge when it's in the trailer? Can a 12v cigarette lighter -style socket be added to the tow electrics?

With that scenario you will need to run the fridge in the car, even if you could tap into the trailer electrics you will only have an operational feed when lights are on, so likely hood is that you would blow a fuse.

Plan B, could be to carry a leisure battery in the trailer to power the fridge, not ideal though.

You could have a 12S socket fitted to the car and use it to power the fridge.
