My sister has a 12 reg and it tows well but is very heavy on fuel, even when not towing.

Depending on your journey types it maybe less than 30mpg average.

Diesel maybe a better option for economy and for towing but will it suit your other requirements?

Well ive already bought one. Lovely car. Like a swiss clock but dosent seem very powerfull. & i dont get 30 mpg solo. Getting about 26. Dissapointed. Mi 2.0 rav4 pulled great.
