Good evening all.
Anyone on here tow with a Beemer 3 series. I'm looking at changing my tow car and was surprised at the kerb weight of the BMW 330d SE.
I'm aware of the technical workings out, what I'm after is feedback from those who actually have experience of towing with said car. I was looking at the 5 series, but I'm interested in experience from 3 series owners. Thanks

Hi,

Used to tow explore 574 (max weight around 1300Kg) with a 2007 335d saloon

With circa 284 bhp and plenty of torque from the twin turbo engine was no issue at all from a towing perspective whether on the flat or up hills

Now running a 320d touring (only c184 bhp) and whilst this is still a good match for the van you can certainly tell more that it is there, especially off the mark

Looking to go to an X3 M40d but just need to convince the boss :-)

I run a 530d and from a power perspective, I can say that you will have no problems.

We're just back from France, where we were pulling 1500kg and managed a touch over 30mpg, at a steady 80kmh
