I found this one...and have no idea if it is a good tow car or not?! On Parker website it says it can tow up to 1500kg. It's a 2008 KIA
CARENS 2.0 GS CRDI 5d 138 BHP 2 L.
Any thoughts...again? Please? Can it tow a caravan of about 1400kg decently or it would struggle?
Thank you.
Best wishes to All.

------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
If - and it's a sizeable if - the information you have been given is correct then you can legally tow a 1400kg caravan with that car provided that your driving licence permits it. As Rob has said, you may need B+E.
However, figures given on websites are notoriously inaccurate and the only way to be certain as to what weight the car can tow is to look at the VIN plate, which will either be in the engine bay or on one of the door pillars. This will give the gross vehicle weight (maximum permitted weight of the car when fully loaded) and gross train weight (maximum permitted weight of car and trailer combined). Subtract the first from the second to get the towing limit.
It doesn't matter if the manufacturer's brochure or even the V5 give different figures, the weights shown actually on the car are those that legally stand.
Bear in mind also that the limits are set based on the weight of a trailer that the car can move from a standing hill start when new. The engine in a 2008 car will inevitably have lost some performance over the years.
My gut reaction is that the car will cope OK but won't be a ball of fire. If you plan to tow mostly short-ish distances to fairly local sites that probably won't be an issue, but journeys for 100s of miles across the UK or the continent might feel a bit like hard work.
