Hi I'm looking for a car that's suitable for towing my Adria Izonso, I'm about to look at a volvo xc60 2.4 161bhp, any feedback would be appreciated.

If you are looking at towing with a Volvo I would have thought that you would be better off having the XC90 rather than the XC60 with that sort of caravan weight. I believe that they both have the same 2.4 diesel engine but the XC90 has a heavier kerbweight.
I know a few people who tow with the Volvo XC90 actually who have said that they have had no issues towing and what a reliable comfortable vehicle they are. I've been towing with a Volvo for the past 9 years but if I had a much heavier caravan then I think the XC90 would be my choice of towcar too.
I tow our Isonzo with a Touareg, absolutely no problems at all.
South of France from Scotland never an issue.

To ensure legal compliance, the manufacturer's towing limit for the car must be equal to or higher than the actual loaded weight of the caravan (note: not necessarily the MTPLM, although they'll probably be close in reality).
Sensibly, the car's mass in service (which isn't quite the same as kerb weight, but close enough for this purpose) should also be at least equal to and preferably higher than the caravan's loaded weight (but this is advisory only and not a legal requirement).
My gut reaction is the same as the others that have commented. The Volvo XC60 will probably cope, and be legal, but a heavier 4x4 such as Volvo XC90 (or Land Rover Discovery, Audi Q7, VW Touareg etc) will probably feel more comfortable.

Remember if going for a Shogun that it has now stopped production and some spares in the long term could become difficult to obtain.
Although this will probably be some time away.
