Just bought a 69 Ranger with 13 pin socket. I’ve read on here about the fridge and battery charge electrics not working and that an extra loom is needed.

So I’ve been to the Ford dealer and they haven’t the foggiest… is this something an independent garage / towbar fitter will be able to supply and fit?..

I think pin 10 is the live fridge and 11 earth. Try putting a multimeter across these pins with the ignition on, if you've got current bingo. For the pin positions just Google it.

A decent tow-bar fitter should be able to sort that out no problem.

Resurrecting this post for anyone that’s worried, have just got a 69 plate Ranger with factory tow bar and electrics fitted.

Electrics worked as expected, (fridge, charger, ATC all fine), only issue I found was that the tow ball wasn’t of the ALKO type, so £20 Maypole towbar purchased from Amazon and spent 20 minutes swapping it out on Saturday, just need to get torque wrench on it now to torque up to 218nm
