I Have a 2004 alko caravan hitch. Replaced new side friction pads and when I fully engage red stabiliser arm it appears to lift when towing. Hand brake is not interfering with with stabiliser lever when braking. Should red stabiliser lever be flat down when fully engaged. What actually locks stabiliser arm in engaged position. I can feel very good pressure when I engage the stabiliser arm. Don't know why it's lifting when towing. Also hitch is not interfering with vehicle when cornering. How can the stabiliser become faulty. Please any ideas.
It's hard to push down but can be done. New side friction pads are fitted so there should be pressure . But what actually locks the stabiliser arm down. No shims. Should stabiliser be fully horizontal when engaged
They do take a bit of force, depending on Weetabix intake, to push down, and should be horizontal and not lift during travel.
