Just make sure the hubs/bearings are good before long journeys. My mates wheel fell smack off at Portsmouth, the hub had somehow snapped off on his trailer tent. Being a tight git, he had no breakdown insurance that would cover him, so he ended up selling the whole thing to a port employee for peanuts to get it off his hands. Then, they all drove back to Yorkshire sans trailer - and holiday!

I borrowed a trailer from a friend I'd never towed anything before and on picking it up soon forgot that it was there,until I drove over a humpback bridge over a canal and the trailer appeared in the rear view mirror I slowed down

If you do buy a small trailer and spare wheels don't forget to get a jack as it is more than likely your car has an inflator kit not any sort of spare wheel
