Hi all. For many years I have owned a small box trailer. The hubs on the trailer take 3/4” wheel nuts (4:00 8” wheels). I now have another trailer which uses 11/16” nuts (and therefore narrower studs I assume). The wheels appear to be interchangeable unless the wrong wheels have have been put onto the ‘11/16’ hubs I.e. the wheels off the ‘11/16’ trailer fit the ‘3/4’ trailer so I assume the holes must be bigger than the smaller stud. Concerned that the holes are too big for the smaller studs.

Are there specific wheels for the different sized studs? The studs appear to be in exactly the same position.

Many thanks for any advice!

Rich

The difference between the 3/4 inch and the 11/16 inch studs is about 1.6mm. As the holes in the wheels have a greater tolerance around the studs than this it is very likely that the same wheels are used for both stud sizes just check and make sure they do fit and that when the wheel nuts are tightened to the correct torque there is no play in the wheel.
