Hello I am after some assistance please, I have recently swapped my BMW X3 for an X5 which came with a witter detachable towbar, I was hoping to get away next week but unfortunately I cannot get the tow bar to engage without some play up and down in the towbar, it’s minimal but enough to not want to tow, and the indicator on the dial is not going green either, key is not pointing towards 6 o’clock either.

I have cleaned housing with brake cleaner though it appeared not to need it I have also changed blue dial for a new one with same results.

I cannot read the part number on the label it’s rubbed away.

So I am after any tips as too why it’s not engaging and if there are any other members who have a 3.0d X5 could they tell me their Witter part number.
