Actually between Clowes Top and Abberley. I was thinking of going via Church Stretton- Ludlow - Tenbury Wells, which avoids Bridgnorth and Kidderminster. Any thoughts please?
b4202 out of clows top then turn left onto the A4117 turn right onto the b4207 then right again onto the b4363 then just after the halfway house inn at bridgenorth go straight ahead on westwood lane, which becomes telegraph lane, at the junction a quick left then right then eventually picck up the a458 at morville, follow that til you get to the ring road (A5) turning right. second roundabout take the a49 next r/about turn left at aldi, onto the a5124 then take a right onto the a528 and that takes you to ellesmere total 53 miles

Whichever way you chose you are probably going to get stuck behind a tractor for miles and miles especially at this time of the year. A49, A456,A443 is not too bad a route. Avoid B4204 as it is a rough bouncy road and a bit hairy in places.
