Hi, I have a Pennine pathfinder 1000 kg tow weight.

I'm thinking of buying a Kadjar, the 1.2 petrol says it pulls 1.5kg & the 1.5 diesel pulls 1.3kg.

Would a 1.2 petrol engine pull a 1k kg trailer tent?
The weight of the car is 1.8k kg so I'm seriously considering it.
Has anyone tried a Kadjar for towing?
Any advice greatly received, thanks.

If you look in the Search Facility there are two other posts re Kadjar, they might be of help to you.

I have a Kadjar and we pull a Coachman Highlander 450. Our Kadjar however is the 1600 4WD Signature with 130 bhp and she pulls it, a bit of gear changing but hey ho. Our Kadjar has a kerb weight of 1611kg and pulls 1382kg.

I don't have a Kadjar, but a 1.2L (130bhp) Petrol Citroen C4GP, that tows my 1310Kg MTPLM 4 berth caravan absolutely fine, so every possibility that you can tow a mere 1000Kg Pennine pathfinder with ease.

Of course it all comes down to engine characteristics and gear ratios as to how it tows and whether you need to drop a gear or two on hills, but mine trundles along happily in 5th or 6th gear for most part, will exceed the towing speed limit without batting an eyelid (accidentally of course!) and never encountered a hill yet that has been too challenging.

A Pennine pathfinder should be a easier tow than a full blown caravan, as much lower profile from all directions with less wind resistance and 'sail area' for crosswinds/HGV bow waves to effect and destabilise.
