We are currently at Haw Wood Farm Caravan Site near Saxmunden in Suffolk and are moving on tomorrow to the Old Brick Kilns Caravan Site between Fakenham and Holt in Norfolk. We are a Kia Sorento towing a 7.5m caravan. There doesn’t appear to be a direct main route. Can anyone who knows the area recommend a good route for towing? At the minute we are thinking the A145 to Beccles (but not sure what getting through Beccles with a caravan is like). Then the A146 to the Norwich Southern Bypass. From there I am less sure, possibly anticlockwise round the bypass until the junction with the A1067 and then up the A1067 to Fakenham and then follow the site directions from there.
That should be fine. You go round Beccles, not through it. N.B. don't use your sat nav round Norwich, it will take you to the A47 and then across country. Been there, got the t shirt. Just remember to turn right when you get to the Norwich ring road.
Thanks Mrs Bonce! We’ve never been to this area before so we are a bit nervous about the roads. We usually have the sat nav on but also a separate map so I’ll watch out for junction with the Norwich bypass.
