Looking ahead to next year's holidays. We have been looking into going to France camping with our tent and trailer to carry it all in.
It's a erde142 trailer. What certificates and documents would I need to get/have to be able to do so.
A goggle search brings up a lot of info which at the moment dosnt make a lot of sense to me.
Am I correct in thinking that as long as it's below 750kgs I'm ok and don't need a certificate?
Thanks for any help or info anyone can give me.

Providing the trailer has the car's number plate, you don't need anything extra. Just hitch up and enjoy the ride

Ok thank you. I was reading up on goggle and it said you need a certificate etc.
Trying to get things sorted to go across next year.
A lot of info to try and take in and it's confused me quite a lot

Stick a UK sticker on it as well as car and off you go.Worth having a spare wheel if you don't already have one.
In some EU countries trailers and caravans, are separately registered so have separate insurance and reg nos. Not in UK but don't give our greedy government ideas

You need your car docs, V5 insurance and mot (if it needs one).

The trailer already has GB stickers on it
Will get some for the car. Do they need to be front and rear?
Have a spare wheel on the trailer as do a lot miles with it on UK trips.
What countries require them to be registered in the EU?
We are looking at south of France so I'm assuming I won't need anything apart from car documents (MOT, insurance, and MOT certification)

No, it's certain EU countries own rules and regs for THEIR residents that require trailers / caravans registered.

Sticker on rear of car only, unless you have a small one to cover a GB logo on your front number plate. It should be UK stickers now. Personally I have never bothered with anything

I know France and Germany have individual trailer registration as we had a camping trailer when serving with the RAF in West Germany many years ago! Had its own insurance registration and plates!
You only need a UK sticker on the back of the car. You can get the number plates with them, used to be GB but for some daft reasons the last govt decided to swap to UK

If you're getting breakdown/recovery insurance for your car for your trip abroad, worth checking that your trailer would be covered too.
