Hi there this problem started with front driver window not working. Now spread to all windows and doors but can still operate door locks on passenger side. Also mirrors stopped working. I replace driver side window motor but no effect. Any advice most appreciated. ??

Very likely to be a general electrical problem, water ingress into a control module etc etc.

I've always found owners club websites to be the best first port of call to pick ip on any generic issues with the model.

I’ve been down the VW owners online rabbit holes several times, but for my car’s problems they’ve never been particularly helpful for complex problems, maybe because it’s an older vehicle. Google / AI can be more helpful.
My independent MOT garage plugs my 12 year old Golf into their laptop & up comes the problem. They don’t charge me for doing that & they advise going forward, from do nothing, to send part away to specialist for repair (repair £700, new part £2K), or “it’s X but we don’t have the tools, you’ll need to go to the VW dealer” - that’s only happened once in 10 years, related to my soft top roof.
