HI all, sold the bailey now we have a 9month old elddis odyssey, unlike our bailey the previous owner could transfer the remainder of the manufactureres warranty to us ( 2 year warranty for £30 ).

So now we need a new car, or should i say new old car,

the van weights around 1300 kg empty, we travel light less than 20 kg plus th ebasic carravan stuff such as gas bottle.

i want either a td4 freelander or a 2.2 omega, does any one have experience of towing with either of these,

thanks all,

Hello,
How have you been getting on with your towing, we have a swift challenger that weighs about the same as your new van, and we have an omega 2.5 v6, we took it out for a bit of a practise last weekend and it tows brilliant, it didnt feel like a caravan was there, hardly! (apart ftom the range!!) were off on our first 'local' trip tomorrow for the weekend before we head off for Cornwall in a couple of weeks, can't wait!!
do let us know how you're getting on,

As one door closes another one opens.. sometimes you need to spend a little time in the room thats all..

Oatlake,

I don't have any experience of either car, but is the 2.2 a diesel?  If it's the petrol, then I believe it's a bit gutless in comparison to the 2.2 diesel.

I'm sure the 2.5 V6 is a lovely car, I've always fancied Omegas although I never got round to buying one,  but irrespective of what the official figures might say, I bet it goes through a fair bit of petrol, in real life conditions.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!
