Hi

it occurs to me that a 12year old caravan mayhave been used quite a lot, and it is possible the the coupling head may have worn slightly over size for the ball. That would certainly cause a bang under braking and acceleration.

Might be a stupid suggestion, but it happenend to us and we had banging at the rear but is your towbar not loose? Ours came loose which resulted in some horendous noises, now I check it everytime we use the van.
