We had a Rover 75 2 ltr diesel and it was great to tow our Bailey Ranger 510/4, but I've heard that the 1.8 petrol engine isn't so good. We changed it because we needer something bigger for our new van.

The 1.8 petrol engine has a poor reputation but the turbo version is ok. We bought the turbo and find it a better all round tow car than our previous vehicle a Vauxhall Omega 2.0 litre petrol that we thought would be hard to beat.

Rover 75.......... a good car.  The Rover Group recently "folded" though, so I would be wary of the warranty cover that may exist.

let us know how you get on with it. seen a nice one today , 2.0 cdi tourer , yet another model on the ever expanding list of possible towcars. was interested in an alfa 156 but a bit short of room in the back , even the sportwagon not over generous so now out the running.

new shape mondeo tdci has good reports but would like something a bit different.out of interest, which is the better diesel engine , Rover 75, Mondeo . Passat or Vectra ??

seems to be many different engines in the mondeo , 90ps, 130 ps etc ?
