have a look on www.whattowcar.com you can put in your van details, and the car details, and it should tell you what you want to know.

I don't think people carriers make great tow cars from what I've heard. If I remember rightly, the twoing weights can be quite low on them? Might be wrong though!!
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?
Our towcar is a Seat Alhambra 1.9TDi (Ford Galaxy lookalike) and it tows our german LMC Munsterland 5 berth van really well, I have a friend that also tows with an Alhambra, don't know of anybody with a Galaxy but should be (if anything) a better performance.
Just had a look, and i recon it bears up to the 4x4. all i can do is test drive, But its when the time come`s, and the wife throws the kitchen sink etc in the van.
I tow with a 1.9 TDI Alhambra and we throw everything in it, kitchen sink, and if she could, the bath as well no problems.
I was looking at the Ford website and it didn't specify the 2.2 TDI engine as an option is this a new spec?

This is complete claptrap. Most mpv's make superb tow cars (often better than 4x4's). Mine has a kerbweight of 1800 kgs, a maximum tow weight of 2000 kgs, nose weight of 85 kgs and with only five seats in has a huge boot.
The big MPVs are good towcars. It's the smaller ones that aren't as good as they are based on small saloons. For example, the Zafira is based on the Astra.
