I wonder if anyone can help me?

I intend to buy and fit a towbar to my Zafira.

It appears there are two options open to me.

1. Towbar and standard electrics.
2. Towbar and plug-in electrics.

I believe that the standard electrics will require me to manually connect the wires of the towbar connector into the wiring loom of the car.
The second option suggests that the electrics just plug into a connector that is already in the car's wiring loom just behind the offside rear light cluster.  I have had a look here and there is such a connector in the wiring loom.

My question is if I buy option 2 will it simply be a matter of plugging-in the connector from the towbar electrics or is there more to it?

Someone said that I might have to take the car to Vauxhall for them to configure the car's management system for towing.  Is this correct?

I had my towbar fitted with twin electrics. It took them about an hour as all the bits and pieces needed just bolt straight on, and the electrics just plug into the sockets you have found behind the light cluster. They also fitted some electrics that prevent the car battery being drained by things like the fridge etc. There was no re tuning of the engine management system (2001 1.8 Elegance by the way)
