A good evening to all , i need some help i have just been offered a very nice buccaneer elan 15 for a realy good price , but me being a bit daft cant work out from the tally plate its weight it reads  ( max axle weight 21,50 cwt ) help what does this mean and can i tow with my kerbweight of 1400kgs . Any help or advice would be greatly aprriecated as i think if some one else sees it they will snap it up

They have a second hand one here  it shows the weight as 1122 so your 1400 car will be plenty enough

What year is it?  We have a 1996 Buccaneer Elan 15 EL. 

The Explorer Group site has archives which might help you.

They date back to 1993.

Looks ok to me ( depending on what power your car is though ) 21,50 cwt = 1092.2 kg   , You recommended maximum 85% towing weight would be 1190 kg and you'll be 98 kg within this .

thanks for everyones help , waiting for a reply on the year , think its an 88 , and my car has enough power , will prob go for it , the previous owner has kept it immaculate so will let you all no how it pans out
