Cheapest, most economical cars around suitable for towing seem to be Rover 620/825

has anyone got one no info on whattowcar site.

the 620 is 2.0td 105bhp would this do the job for my van 1100kg max weight. and would it pull better than my 1.8 mondeo

appreciate all the advice.

I have sold my Rover 600 SLD today for £1000.It was in mint condtion inside and out and needed nothing, not even belts.They are a superb car but have a very low value which makes them a great buy.They tow well and are very economical.I have changed cars because i now need an estate but If Rover had made them in estate versions i would still own one.

seen a 620sld p-reg for £750 fsh & 70k miles

Mine was a 97 P with 112k. At 70 k it's ready for the timing and injection pump belts so check to see if they have been replaced and if not they will need doing. It sounds like its well worth a look and if you buy a Rover let me know and i'll sort you out a copy of the full workshop manual on CD. Good luck.

If you've got a couple of grand to spend, I'd say the choice is vast, there's thousands of cars out there. We often pop along to the auctions & watch them go through for silly money. To be honest, if you can find one that hsan't got a towbar on it, at least you'll be certain that it hasn't worked its guts out dragging a caravan or even worse an overloaded horsebox around. you can get a towbar fitted for not a lot of money.

I wish you'd posted this earlier, my brother has just let his Mondea diesel go for £750, he swapped it in with a dealer for that too. It had only just had a brand new engine & air con unit two years ago.

6 weeks to go to pentewan this way & the inner man can't wait. What pitch are you on??
