Hi All

We are looking to get our first caravan fairly soon and we are hoping to use my 1993 K reg 8 seater Toyota Hi-Ace Super Custom to tow it with.
This was imported and so we don't have the manufacturers handbook giving details of its weight and towing capabilities.

Does anyone have this vehicle who could possibly give me this information or know anywhere that I can look it up?

The caravan we're hoping to buy has an MTPLM of 1500kg.
According to one of the recent caravanning magazines, a Ford Mondeo can pull 1400kg so I'm guessing our "bus" won't have any problems pulling 1500kg but I want to be sure before I part with my hard earned cash!!

Any help or advice regarding this matter would be gratefully received.

all i can find on the vehicle if its your vehicle found it here http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/toyota/hiace/1993_8/  took it from no.10 depends if it has sunroof or not etc.........no towing weight given

Hello Helen,

If it is any help to you I pull my 26ft Ace Surpeme Globestar(twin axle) which has an unladen weight capacity of 1485kg with a Toyota Landcruiser 3.0TD no problem, and the car to caravan weight ratio is well within it's capacity. I am sure you will be well within your limits with your Hi-Ace.
