I've never fitted a stabiliser before so I'm not 100% sure what I have to do.

I have the piece fitted to the car now and I know which end goes into this and then you tighten up the little screw into the slot to secure it at the car end, then I asume you put the long end onto the slot for it on the caravan, the thing I'm not so sure of is the bar that sticks straight up in the centre of the circular part? Do I pull that down to horizontal and then remove the bar?

I hope someone can understand my explanation not knowing the tech names for the parts of the stabiliser!

If not I may possibly be able to get a pic.....

cheers

Hi,
is it a Bulldog stabiliser? If so, the "bar that sticks straight up in the centre of the circular part" sounds like the part marked '4' on page one of the instruction leaflet - also have a look at page three where it shows how to replace the friction disks. It should be down so that the plates are clamped down onto the friction disk, and all leaf-type stabilisers generally work this way.
Hope this helps,

Gram

hello

my stabiliser is made by Corgi, but you are right it's very similar so thanks very much.

I searched google for some info but couldn't find anything.

cheers
