Hi,

Does anyone out there tow with an S type Jaguar ?

I want to buy a bigger van and will need to get a heavier car to tow it. I don't fancy a four by four as I just don't enjoy driving them.

If anyone has any thoughts on towing with the S type, or knows of another 'normal' car that is suitable. then I would appreciate the input.

Green with envy how cool a jag towing a van. seriously would'nt have thought it any better than the modeo you have on your profile

I know of one S Type locally that tows - seems to do OK but they only have an 1100Kg van.

If you are looking at large saloons - how about the Skoda Superb?  We had a 53 plate 2.5 TDi V6 for about 18 months - was a cracking car - 160 bhp, 40ish mpg and weighed in at 1700Kg!  Only traded it in because we wanted an estate and sadly Skoda hasn't got round to an estate version of the Superb!

Downsides ..... well it didn't exactly send the pulses of us 30 somethings racing!

Thanks I have looked into the jag and it is quite a heavy car 1750Kg and at 240 hp  and 221 lbs ft torque

I think this should be a lot better than the mondeo which is 1500Kg 136bhp and 133 lbs ft.

I'll look into the skoda (although I think the jag is a bit more sexy)
