I am interested in purchasing a 2006 Adria Altea 432PX as i understand from this forum that continental vans are well built. What attracts me is the fixed bed layout and the weight of only 880kg and of course the price is right.

Can anyone offer some asvice?

According to the Adria specs the MTPLM (max laden weight) is 1100kg.  Not sure where you get 880 from.  Ideally you need a tow vehicle with a kerbweight of around 1300 kg

Jennifer is correct, the 1100kg is the MTPLM, 880kg is the MIRO, but don't forget the 2006 model Altea comes with spare wheel, Alko Hitch and gas cylinder so this will bump the MIRO up a bit (still gives about a 250kg payload though)

The MIRO for a 2006 model inc. spare wheel is given as 905 kg.  But there is no mention of it including a gas bottle.  That would be part of the payload.  So your total payload is 195 kg, which is about average.
