Anyone any experience of twoing with a Mazda 6 2.0TS 143PS?

I am changing from a VW Passat 130bhp and looking at the Mazda.

Any comments about general driving and towing capabilities of the enging etc.  I am not concerned about the weight ratio - it is more the torque etc.

Hi, our friends have a Mazda 6 not sure if it is the one you are asking about but I think it is a 2litre diesel, they like the car and tow a caravan I know they have to watch the weight but are pleased overall with it.

Had a 626, not sure if the rear suspension is the same as a 6. The 626 was the most reliable car I've had but was not up to the job of keeping a 1300 kg caravan under control so had to go. Pulled the previous caravan perfectly but that was only 1000 kg.

Same as Outlander; had a 626(GXi), very reliable and pulled 1000KG van without any problems - as to heavier loads, I suspect acceleration might suffer a bit unless you make good use of the gearbox...
Last August changed to Skoda Octavia 2.0 L diesel - now that does pull!

Thanks for your help folks.

Have now read the review of the Mazda 6 Estate - won Towcar of Year in its class - so must tick the right boxes.

Thanks for help.
