Tow bar fitted is £200 with vat.

In a muddle now as don`t think the Pajero is as good a bargain it`s a J reg, in fab condition, diesel 2.5 ,10,0000 miles. It`s been over here for 2.5 years.

£1500 plus tow bar £200, total cost £1700.

Is this a good price or should I look around more?

hi travelbug...... that is not a bad price really when you consider what you are getting for your money...... also the mileage on pajero's is in kilometres so yuo need to divide it by 1.6 to get the miles.100,000 km's is actually 62500 miles... not bad for a 16 yr old motor. only other thing to contemplate though on these is the cam belt should be changed around that mileage so try to get it done as part of deal

If cam belt hasn`t been done, roughly how much will it cost, still looking going to look at a L reg one in a minuite a bit more cost but less miles than the J and has a tow bar, going to check that it hasn`t towed the life out of it.

Wish me luck

Again thanks everyone for advise, I will have a 4x4 for my first trip out with the camper.

best bet for price on cambelt change travelbug is to look on www.pocuk.co.uk and put a post on the forum.... you will get various prices but from that you will know an approx. figure - sorry to be of no more help than that but i spose i am lucky to be able to carry out these tasks myself therefore it only costs me materials.

i am sure you will find the right vehicle - if you go through a dealer negotiate a cambelt change with them and get it done in the price.

all the best of luck on your ongoing quest

sparkee - Ian

Just to confirm if you go for 2.8 td they do not have cambelts -they have camchains but you need to be sure fuel pump seals have been replaced as they dont like our uk cheap and nasty diesel. Alternativley buy a petrol engined pajero - 3.5 V6 does the same to a gallon as the diesels.
