I joined at the beginning of 2010. Thought I'd better say I'm not a camper any more - I used to camp solo and now have too many crocked joints! I rehomed my tent early in 2025. From now on it's caravans, cottages or maybe an occasional en suite pod. I've thoroughly enjoyed being a member of ukcs and have found all the information, reviews etc very helpful indeed over the years. Many thanks to the admins who keep it all running as such an excellent resource - long may it continue!

Been there, done that, ditched the tent as it was getting too much for me to pitch and set up on my own to be enjoyable; and changed unit to a high top custom converted panel van instead.
I do believe once a camper, always a camper; so please enjoy the next stage of your camping journey!

This is a really good website, whether it's for tenting, caravanning, etc or even statics. A lot of knowledge shared, and, dare I say it, without a lot of the "negative" comments seen on other platforms.
I wish you all the best in this new stage of your life, and please carry on posting with your findings on alternative accommodation. Some of us aren't far behind you and would appreciate any info on different kinds of accommodation
Thanks folks - this is indeed a very informative and well-mannered site! I haven't the budget or the storage space for a camper van, but some sites have pods or static caravans so you can still get the campsite vibe without the work! Studfold near Pateley Bridge had good pods; Fishguard Bay Resort had a couple of pods overlooking Goodwick Bay, which was a lovely spot. Nothing else planned for this year apart from a get-together with friends in September, but that's in a cottage. Keep on camping while you can, folks! There's nothing quite like it.

Keep hugging hedges and trees and embracing the great outdoors in whatever way you can. It IS a great website forum, funny, informative, and well-mannered and hope you continue to check in from time to time. I also love your title!!!
