Hi guys
I'm not sure if this thread will be allowed so if not i understand, anyway as you may know i have a classic Land Rover van fitted with a Wild Lands roof tent and want to fit the back out inside for camping stuff and cooking and going to fit an inverter for powering stuff up like fridge, other cooking tools and lights so everything i've ordered
100 amp battery
2000w-4000w inverter
split charge system
Have all arrived so soon i will be fitting it all, will probably make a battery box and will need to make a unit in the back to fit everything in so watch this space

I went to the last show last year, wouldn't go again as i was hoping you would see stuff for roof tenters and kitting thier vehicles out but it was more for either you buy a brand new transit or VW van and have a firm kit it out for you or for peeps who wanted a new roof tent but it was good if you drank cider as there was no beer tent.

Check out Charlie and me on youtube, its an Irish motorhome channel but he has just done exactly this, Range Rover (i think), roof tent, battery, solar, cooking pull-out, etc.

It was just cider when we went to the last of two shows maybe the ran out of beer but all the advertisements at the marque was for cider, we did sample some but prefered beer

Now running a D3 with Roof tent has it uses but still use a ground tent for certain occasions still

the marquee was owned and operated by severn cider.

but they sell beer, wines and assorted spirits too.

just like the chip shop doesnt just sell chips.....

beer was available all weekend mate. i was there from the wednesday to the monday night as i`m involved with the show and i can assure you there was plenty of beer.

the part with all the VW`s was the international campervan show. It is the sister show and run at the same location to offer 2 shows for 1 price..

there are plenty of retailers offering stuff to kit out your vehicle. as its name would suggest, its the adventure overland show.

companies like west coast who specialise in kitting out overland vehicles often attend (when they are not taking part in the paris-dakkar).

you may have missed some of the retailers as they were spread out across the site.

Ok with the beer / cider marque we obviously messed up but with the show its self i'm from a Land rover background and been to loads of landy shows that have a lot of overlanding stuff there as well as landy stuff there so probably been spoilt and expected similar at the overland show

Me and son made a start yesterday making the raised floor for the camping starage / cooking area in the rear of my land rover S2a 88" ( roof tent fitted ) we started with making a frame to raise the floor to cover the spare wheel which can easilly slid in and out when needed also we made a battery compartment to house x2 100amp leasure batteries with a lift up lid for easy access

Just took the landy out since boarding the back out still got the o/s wall to do yet could be tonight weather permitting and the landy is a lot quieter now and with the headboard being there now the heater is a lot warmer, better for driving through the night to Cornwall
