We have a front extension on our monty 6 and we are able to cook in there perfectly safely without risk of fire.

do you get charged for an extra tent when you have a day or utility tent?

it depends which sites you go to - some will charge you for extra tents and make you pay for an extra pitch.

We got a SunnCamp utility tent for the cooker (£45) and we now use it for the cooker, fridge (a godsend!) all our food and cooking equipment and to store the chairs/folding table overnight or when out during the day.

Free's up so much space in the main tent.
