Liddenham, did you get an Outwell carpet for the Guadeloupe or end up with something else? We're using picnic rugs at the moment to protect the SIG and make it "cosy", but they're difficult to keep in the right place, so we're thinking something fitted (perhaps in two halves) would be better.
We to have the carpet and what a difference it makes when you have the footprint as well, its so cosy and warm especially those early mornings when my girls wake at 6am, they now sit on the carpet and dont complain of a cold bum like they did with the picnic blankets. We too have the no shoes rule in the tent, they are used to it as we have the same rule at home, there pretty good at it as well seeing as there only 2 & 4 . In my opinon the carpet is definately a good buy, but i would get the footprint at the same time to get the real benefits.
