Sue, our perception of crime is far greater than the actuality of crime so that's one reason you don't need to worry. The second one is, that the vast majority of camp sites are crime free zones - too many people can see and hear what's going on. Three, campers as a group tend to look after each other and you will find that your neighbours would spot intruders and that the word would quickly spread. However, I do suggest that you don't walk through the campsite naked at midnight!

sue, I think the best security precaution you can take is to do your homework before you go away ie take time to choose a campsite that will feel safe to you when you're there. MT
