I remember the first family sized domes coming on the market in the 1990s - and now 10 years later the tents are getting bigger and bigger, especially the dome ones with bedroom pods off at all angles. Campsites are businesses and if the accommodation of bigger tents does not make business sense then it won't happen.
I do not want to sound unhelpful or unsympatheitc, but I dont think that sites will make bigger pitches available without substantially increasing the fees, and if they do that then those of us with smaller units may become the ones who are then penalised by increased costs.
The issue of pitch size should be considered when buying a tent, and (as the pinned thread on here shows) there ARE sites that take the larger tents. You just need to be aware that in choosing that kind of tent you are maybe limiting your choices of places to camp as not all sites can accommodate you.
