I've been using the wax ones and I would advise against them.

Both my ears are blocked with wax now and I'm putting drops in daily.

Still, while my ears are blocked I can't hear Jeff snoring.

I've been using Boots brand earplugs called Muffles for about 30 years and my ears still work ok - about £3 for a box of 10 and you can get them on any high street - tip: break one in half by twisting it and warm them up before putting them in - easier to get them to fit snuggly. They say one use only on the box - I get a week out of a pair and I've never had an ear infection so hope you don't think I'm minging!!!

That's the ones I use and I have dreadful earwax at the moment.  I'm on my second bottle of Earex and one of my ears is still full of wax.  I'm going to try the foam ones when I've got rid of the earwax.

We always take them away with us, whether camping or not, but haven't had to use them on campsites very often.

The time I needed them most was in a council studio flat I used to live in, next to lots of people's living rooms!

At the risk of sounding a bit bizarre, I sleep in earplugs every night! I get panicky if I don't have them... At the moment I am liking Tescos foam ones, they are orange and cone shaped and v comfortable. Altough I've had a bit of trouble with ear wax (ick ick) it's worth it not to be concerned about being woken up in the night by the cat/early rising neighbours etc! Started off with living on a road which got used as a rat race by taxi drivers and double decker buses at all hours of the day...

Although, they didn't quite do the trick when we were camping in France this summer and the mad council workers decided 6.40 was the ideal time on a Weds morning to start resurfacing the road. RIGHT outside the campsite! Thankfully was so exhausted mananged to sleep through it... :o)

My other half takes ear plugs with her for the nights its a bit loud from the noisey campers   who seem to be on the increase nowerdays. Then I wear them during the day, when she is moaning about the noisey campers.  We get ours from the local gun shop
