I use a fleece blanket on top of the airbed between that and the sleeping bag. Can't carry a camp bed on a motor bike and never been cold yet.Just make sure you have good sleeping bag that is the most important item.

We put laminate underlay under the airbed, then on top a blanket held in place with a winsiette fitted sheet, then sleeping bag, and if really cold double duvet on top. Warm as toast.

Have used the underlay for laminate flooring and a mattress topper for many years and its very toastie. The underlay is the cheap stuff that you buy in a roll..its even warm to the touch..seriously ..give it a try. regards john.b.
Does the underlay go under the airbed or on top?
We were thinking of putting newspaper underneath, that's got good insulating properties.

It is the contact point between your body and the large body of trapped air in the airbed that is critical. By all means put something uner the airbed, but you must insulate yourself from the bed as the air will take away your bodyheat.
This is the very same principal as your fridge at home, the air behind your fridge is warm as it is being used to carry away the heat and keep the inside cold.
------------- Is there alcohol in it?
