We just bought a cheap bedside lamp from B&Q last year and put a low energy light bulb in - cos we were fed up looking for something that had a 'proper' plug on instead of crocodile clips for a battery.

Oil not ave a bad thing said about crokydial clips !!! 

It seems our local electricity supplier is happy with them and besides I hang me socks out to dry with them

do not have too bright a flourescent if going abroad, think of giant midges and moths attracted to that bright light!!!
