shh, don't tell anyone. it's eweleaze farm in dorset. It is only open for august which is why it is so verdant, it has only had rabbits and sheep on it all year :)
I wonder how many hits their website has just had
I'm verrrrrrrry tempted to drive a gazillion hours and risk camping in the rain for days on end to give it a whirl there!
Just the two questions...... were there any loo's nearby ?? --- Knowing my luck i would have ended in the thistles in the middle of the night. AND........ is that your own tree stump ? (a very boozy stump)
the little sheds are eco loos. Last year they were a tent over a hole in the ground with two planks over. This year they are proper privvies! If you aren't as old as me you may have to look up what a privvy is
as one camper was heard to describe it, it's a wooden seat over a pile of poo! But it isn't as bad as it sounds and they are power hosed down every day.
there is a block of flush toilets in the middle of the field near the car park.
if you read the review i did last year you will see how pleased i was to see them! This year we just used the privvies, as did most people.
there weren't many big logs just lying around on the site this year but i found that one on the first day and guarded it well, and brought it home :)
i still have the one i used last year to stop me sliding down the slope on my chair. (back on topic here!) and i call it my luggable log as i had a piece of rope tied to it so i could move with the sun.
Hi all
The answer to sleeping on sloping pitches, are the carp anglers bivvy beds Six separate adjustable legs, we always have a level bed

can you both fit on it
i have a girly carp chair (see fishing chair thread) and it is nice and light but i find i want it with the front feet extended before i am even on a slope. :(
i would have preferred to have a 'cypry' like my husband but they don't make them any more :(
i was 10 years old before we got main drainage in the village. Only the council houses had flush loos, cess pits i presume. The rest of us had elsans in a shed. My dad had to dig a big hole in the garden to tip it into. We had excellent veg!.
We also had a bucket indoors for night time use, not even a posh luggable loo!
my biggest problem camping on a slope is ensuring the luggable loo doesn't tip over . I keep it in the extension, no groundsheet, and nothing in the way if the worst should happen but so far it has stayed firmly wedged in place :)
WAG bags are excellent for eliminating the worry of the bucket-with-lid tipping over on a sloping site.
We chose our new Vango Orchy 600 on the basis that the bedroom (with divider removed) was big enough for us to be able to orient the bed in ANY direction we need to, according to the slope. We both prefer to sellp with head up the slope.
