Im on janso100s boat. We do exactly the same although with spag bol and savoury mince (like the botton of shep pie without the mash). I do pasta, tinned new tates or if i feel like it mash. Also get slices of garlic bread under the grill. Peachy. Then jellyor angel delight for pud. Kids love it. Mates think you can only eat tinned stuff if camping. All it takes is imagination. Good luck

Yes, cooking meals that everyone likes is going to be quite a headache for me. Just consider folks: 4 grand-kids from 3 different families, plus 3 adults. All 4 have different likes and dislikes - naturally.
Couple that to the fact that we will be at camp for a month at Glyn y Mul Farm with no EHU, what we have here is a logistical nightmare!
Perhaps I ought to just keep it simple Breakfast = cereal+ toast. All other meals = Gruel. Hehehe.
Don't make it too difficult for yourself. What do you normally have for brekkie. If just cereal stick to that and then have the occasional treat of a bacon sarnie or toast.
Make a list of all the one pot meals you can think of (or two, if you have a double burner). Casseroles, pasta, stir frys are all wonderful meals and can be made in one pot. If you have a bbq you can do sausages and something or rice and mince. Pre cook a chicken and then use it to add to meals or have cold with new potatoes. Have a look in some recipe books for loads of ideas.
I cook the same kind of stuff as at home. We eat stuff like pasta, curry etc and things like grilled pork chops / chicken breast/ steak with boiled potatoes and either salad or veg (in the same pan as the potatoes).
The only main difference is that I buy a lot more convenience food than at home, where I tend to make from scratch. For example, jars of cooking sauce, ready chopped and prepared veg and meat. Morrisons do a prepared ceaser salad with the parmesan, dressing and leaves in little satchets in the main bag which is good and really easy. It is more expensive to do it that way but does save a lot of work and having to have lots and lots of ingredients.
Recently aquired the double skillet and made a fantastic lasagne in it, also used it for roast potatoes.
Reckoning on having a bit more variety this year than our normal BBQ with salad which is what we lived on in France last year.
For a 3-night weekend trip we normally plan to 'eat out' (pub or fish and chips) when we arrive and then take pasta and sauce for one meal and bbq for the other.
Hi we went camping for the first time ever last weekend to silverstone and we had only a BBQ to cook on and it was fab to be honest! i cooked chicken (kids eat chicken more than any other meat) on the BBQ then in a fryingpan i had onions peppers and frsh tomatoes and cooked them all with the chicken also added ketchup and bbq sauce tasted like heaven (kids ate the veg as well!) also got some tin new potatos cut them in half and added a little oil tothe pan and added some pataks korma paste and cooked them in that and that was delish yum yum. My little boy loves mash and tuna thats quick to do as well.
We bought this, which we tried out on the weekend and have to say it was brilliant! I love BBQ's but fancied a change and this cooked chicken breasts in under 10 mins!! Also it's half price at the moment which is great value and it takes up hardly any room at all and just fits over your double grill!
