We only did slightly less than usual (2 festivals, 2 weekends away and one long hol). We would usually have a couple more weekends into Sept. We did:

3 nights over May day weekend at Whitby for the Moor & Coast music festival

2 nights locally at CCC Teversal site with niece, nephew and his mate

3 nights with chums at Filey (Centenary way site - smashing!)

2 nights locally at Stainsby festival

11 nights in N Ireland in late July/early August at various sites

To be honest we had so much mud and rain we did not do any more weekend trips in the tent this year.

But that has not put me off my new mission to find a 4 berth canvas tent..... I just can't go without that unique cotton canvas smell any longer!!

I only managed 2 nights in the garden with the boys and a trip to France. Mind you the trip to France was 28 days and we went to 6 different sites so maybe that counts for more than 1 trip??

Having an enormous tent stops me nipping off for a weekend although we do have a couple of 2 man tents - cheap ones that sweat at night! Might be braver next year with the kids but the weather will have to be better than last year.

Well this was our first year starting in May and we managed 5 trips and progressed through 3 tents.

First trip overnight at Black Bull, Pickering, then weekends at Spiers House, Pickering and York House, Whitby in June and July and the August Bank Holiday weekend at Peak Gateway, Ashbourne.

And the best weather was a weekend in September at Ashfield, Kirby Misperton, it was glorious.

And this is just the beginning, can't wait for next year, planning a week in Devon at Springbank and a week in the Dales in August, as well as every Bank Holiday going and at least a weekend camp once a month over the summer.

 Best wishes

  Sam

Oh, forgot, and four days at High Yedmandale with the kids and a friend with her caravan in mid August.  The caravan was very handy, as it rained 3/4 of the time!!!

  Best wishes

  Sam
