Hi Keely, no we are going back to Centenary Way this year. Its lovely. Yeah the showers are a bit naff but the size of the pitches and location are fab. Its only 10 mins walk to filey. we have booked for easter aswell. only £16 a night in august.....bargain!!
Angela where do you go when you camp in filey?
Hi Caraline, we have been to Blue Dolphin twice. The first time was our first camping trip as a couple, I hadn't been camping since I was about 13, and it was great. But the 2nd time was a complete nightmare, which was a shame as we had my oldest son with us that time, so won't be going there again. When it was just me & the boy we used to stay in statics or chalets at various different places, every year for about five years as when it came to deciding where to go on holiday he always wanted to go to Filey (he goes to other places with his dad and grandparents) and I love that area so it was always fine by me.
Since we got the tent we've been to a few different places so not been to Filey for a couple of years but we're going to try for Centenary Way or Filey Brigg for August this year. Must make those phone calls today...
Do you always go to the same place or have you tried different ones?
hi Angela, this is our 2nd time at Centenary way. its great as its within walking distance to the beach. Filey Brigg is certainly nearer to the beach but its at the side of the pay and display car park and it makes me wonder how safe it is to camp there as there is only a grass banking that parts the caravan area and the carpark. Never looked at the tent area though.
We have done Flower of May which is nice but they have a size restriction on the tents and is a tad expensive now (for us anyway).
Last year we went to Humble Bee Farm just outside of Filey, that was nice too and we would go back, but the fact that we can park the car and OH not have to drive all week if he doesnt want to is a big pull for us to Centenary, that and the pitch sizes are good too, the site is flat, but the showers are a bit iffy but hey if it was perfect there wouldnt be room to book a spot lol. But it is clean.
If you have rung Centenary Way and just left a message dont worry if he doesnt get back to you for a few days as its not their home number.
We have just booked Treveague Farm, Gorran haven, for the summer holidays, cannot wait!!! we have been here before this will be our 2nd visit, just hope the weather is better than the first time we went there!! Lovely site and reasonable prices.

Thanks Caraline. I did ring Centenary Way and left a message, so I won't start panicking yet! I think I gave them the wrong email address though! I hate answer phones and I got all flustered & I'm fairly sure I gave him an address I haven't had for about 10 years! Lol. Will give them a few days and then try again.
We've booked a week at Fforest Fields in August and am about to book a few days at Treveague Farm Gorran Haven, due to me looking it up after it being mentioned on here, probably by you Debbie!

Treveague is lovely, excellent showers good facilites, since I was there last they have put a childrens playarea in and they now have the secret garden cafe, it can be a bit windy!!!but it is a lovely site and the campsite owners are lovely too.
Everybody keeps talking about Fforest Fields, I think we are going to have to give this place a visit this year
I havn't booked yet but I do think we have finally decided where to go, East Fleet nr Weymouth for a week then up to Old Oaks nr Glastonbury for the second week. At the end of Aug start of September.
Our first trip this year will be to Moffat for the Easter weekend.
Just booked our August camp, a week at Machrihanish, preceded and followed by nights in a travelodge at Carlisle to explore the Lake District. Reasonable priced - £16 with EHU. ANd £19 per night for the travelodge.

hi gillychick, we are going from the 15th-29th august so we will be there when you are and yes you are right in thinking yiu can use all the facilities. We thought about may halfterm but was also worried about the closeness of our daughters gcse"s so have put that on hold for now, hopefully we will have lovely weather(a mini heatwave would be nice)
kind regards princesspickle :)
Where are you on the site? we're coming down too. I've had my complaints about several things on site over the years but, we've been going there for many years & find the site & its management brilliant for a family holiday. We do all our shopping in St Austell, for a family of 6 we have to avoid site prices.
The new shower block opened last august when we were there, have you seen that?
