If you have young kids, get a puddlesuit (all in one waterproofs)for them, saves changing loads of wet clothes, and put on in evening on top of pyjamas for kids to be warm playing outside. .
Do not take any kids clothes/shoes that you wouldn't mind having to be binning at the end of the trip.
Do not take new or white trainers. crocs and wellies are all they need.
Do not take full length jeans, the grass is always wet morning and evening and jeans soak it up and will not dry out.
On hot days, put your fleece jackets on in the evening BEFORE you start to feel a bit chilly. its much easier to stay warm, than try to warm up again after you get cold. Worse if you have a touch of sunburn.
Change into pyjamas early while its still warm, its not nice getting undressed when its got cold at night.
