I was reading harry potter and the goblet of fire this weekend at camping. Made me wish that I had a magic two man tent that was quick and easy to put up but when you go inside it is as big as 3 bedroom apartment. That'll teach me to leave my wand at home!

Jill Mansell is great for light easy reading so is Jane Green. My best friends girl by Dorothy Koomson is a brill book...had me in tears one min then laughing the next. Or for crime I like Patricia Cornwell or Harlen Coben. Failing that I read my daughters teenage magazines....funny and horror at the same time!!!!

Richard Hammond has a few good books, the story of his crash is a good read.
Failing that, Jeremy Clarkson always reduces me to tears.
I was going to say exactly the same, if you like that sort of thing, particularly Jeremy Clarkson where you can just dip in and read a chapter or two at leisure. Don't forget James May too, he has a superb book about cars in the shops at the moment, and also his 20th century book is a good one to dip into.
I love reading too and a wide variety from chick lit to James Patterson and anything in between.
Not a recommendation for authors but what I do do is visit second hand markets and car boot sales about a month before I go away and buy lots of different kinds. That way I never feel too bad if I end up buying a book I don't like as it didn't cost me a lot and I can leave them behind if space is an issue on return.
I also have to give the books to my DH to hide as otherwise I'd read them all before I went which would defeat the object :)
I also think Marian Keyes have read most of her books and havent had a bad one yet, I read quite a lot have to read in bed just to wind down before going to sleep

Life isn't a rehearsal, be all you can be, follow your dreams and live life to the full!!
has'nt anyone surgested The Tent The Bucket and Me, reading this at the moment, i read in my car when i have a break, everybody keeps looking at me cos im p***ing myself laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I the only sad one who saves up that month's magazines - Caravan, Practical Caravan, Camping, Country Walking, CC, C&CC, Walk, Land Rover Monthly, etc?
I find they're all great for dipping into without too much of a challenge but usually find I learn something from at least one of them.
As for books, Christopher Brookmyre has to be my favourite - usually crime but with some very dark humour and often colourful language so be careful if you have little ones around. The humour is often of the "laugh out loud" variety so be ready to explain yourself. With titles like "All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses an Eye", "A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away", and "One Fine Day in the Middle of the Night", you know you're in for something interesting!

Ill read anything, during my most recent expedition I read a book called Blood River about a journalist who trecked across the Congo - a fascinating read about a country slipping backwards in time amidst violence and anarchy. Also reccommend anything by Bill Bryson. As far as a novel try The Last Testament of Gideon Mack a cracking book.
