Hi Bob - I'm feeling reassured about the Mocha not being so see through after reading your post, thanks! I must go and look at that link now too.
Tinallkn4 - I don't know whether to laugh or "bleurgh" at your OH's description of the Avantgarde pattern, bet the designer thought he was being so "on trend" too - Olympic sperm

I've given in and bought the carolina 3 from Yeomans. At that price I couldn't resist. It's Mocha! Looks great. just hope I can erect it myself as I really struggle with the steel poles on the hawk 3 - The Carolina has 2 steel poles so it's fingers crossed! Sold my oregan 5 to help pay for it.
Take it from me, if you follow the instruction video its really easy to pitch solo. Ive never had a problem (well once I did but thats another story!). Love the Mocha colour its really bright and with all the windows revealed its a fantastic tent to be inside during the day. Could I ask how much you picked it up for?
we absolutely love our mocha tent...love it love it love it...we also have the extension to match... it is very light and airy and after having had a dark blue tent last year wot a difference...
definitely could recommend the light colour...x.x.

Mmmm...I think Yeomans and Outwell spell the colour 'Mocca' although Mocha seems to be the correct dictionary spelling...a dark coffee brown colour.
I have now tested the Carolina 3 but it was on a dull, overcast, miserable day so I couldn't tell if the sun shining through would create a 'shadow puppet' effect. I rather think not actually.
I also bought a small table lamp with a 40w bulb (well I am gradually becoming a glamper) or at least a low power bulb giving an equivelent light of a 40w bulb and looking at it from outside at night it didn't look much different to any other tent when lit up. However, I was camping alone and couldn't find anyone willing to stand inside the tent and jump up and down while waving their arms to see if I could see them.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
