Don't think we could camp without our EHU, we picked it up off ebay for a reasonable price and havent looked back since. I know some people don't like them but with young kids and bad weather - its a great compromise!! We have the dvd player, fridge, heater, electric light, electric pump for the air beds, electric kettle. toaster.............wonder if I can fit a microwave in next time??
How loud is your 'electric pump'? The sound of several going at once has ruined my peace many times.
From the list above, you really do take everything bar the kitchen sink...but correct me if you do!

Camping should be pleasureable and not a grind. I personally prefer the option of EHU. Heater, laptop, Mini DVD player.... we have a lot of crap weather and you must have something to keep 3 kids entertained.
Since mini DVD players didn't exist when most of us were young; how did we manage to be entertained?
Camping now, I tend to see that small kids are less concerned by bad weather than the adults. With a waterproof on, they like splashing in the puddles and mud as much as I did!

To be fair, electric pumps are only on for a few minutes at a time. I don`t use an EHU, except for heat in early or late season camping, but my aerobed has a rechargable pump that I use for a whole 2 minutes at the beginning of my trip.
However, my children do love donning wellies / walking boots and waterproofs, and disappearing around the site with their mates. We occ. take the DS`s for them. But usually, unless they have friends with them, they don`t get used.
I agree - I can't say that the sound of people arriving on site and blowing up their airbeds has ever bothered me either - its not exactly noise pollution at its worst is it. We take ehu for fridge, heater if needed, light if we aren't using the gas lamp and charging phones & kids in car dvds - its actually the hubby who prefers ehu as he doesn't trust gas - probably after our last very faulty gas lamp almost gassed us to death (we were def grateful for the lack of insulation in our tent that holiday!!!!)

Thanks everyone. I finally got OH on board and if we can organise work issues, we are off to the Gower for Easter. I shan't mention the forecast of snow to him though. Is anyone else braving it and if so, where are you going?
I've been looking at the weather for over Easter.
Yesterday I checked and it said snow on 4 days - a couple of hours later just on 2 of the days.
Then I used the anyday search rather than 8-14 days one and got different weather again.
It does what it does and you just have to go with it - take wellies, waterproofs and t-sh*ts and shorts then you're covered for everything (which is what it will do)
