thanks guys! We dont take anything valuable with us really, no ipods or ds or tv or anything so think we may bring in chairs to keep them dry but leave everthing else out.

its nice to hear that campsites are as friendly as I thought! I have not been naive then! x

We don’t take anything of much value with us, have a cheap PAYG emergency phone, our old digital camera, and both are kept locked in the car, all our camping gear is included on our household insurance that covers at home and away.

Tables, Chairs, Cooking gear are all kept in our Outhouse, and put away and zipped up for the night and if we go out for the day, and that’s only to keep them all dry in case of bad weather.

You will find that campers are a certain type of person, mainly those that have worked hard and taken to camping with a young family because of the relative inexpensive at the time, we therefore seem to value and respect other peoples property, unlike some parasites of our society and would not dream of stealing it, I have now gone full circle, camping when young and broke, seeing the world when I was flush and working hard with a well paid job to returning to camping now as a pensioner .

Don’t worry, your things will be safe, I have never heard of any thefts from campsites, Music Festivals, and the like, now there’s another story.

Remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, only ill prepared campers !!

I leave my stove out on the stand, with an ikea bag over the top in case of rain.
