I hate feeling hemmed in so bought a good quality rectangle sleeping bag which was infinately better than a mummy one. However I still ended uo unzipping it as I like to be able to stick my legs out the side.

I now take my Raskelf Duvalay camping - BLISS!!!!

We bought a large double sleeping bag to try our last trip, it was disasterous! I got too hot, in and out the bag all  night, rustle rustle rustle - back to duvet for us next time!

Same as you bewybabe.......double sleeping bag drove me insane. I like to snuggle and stay still, whereas DH moves around all night like a pea on a shovel and gets so hot you have to peel yourself off! So sticking with my kingsize duvet!

It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.

I isulate beneath my airbed with old newspapers, but this year have a silver-backed picnic rug as well. Then have a fleece blanket over it, held in place with a quilted mattress cover (this is as much to protect the bed from dogs' claws as anything else), topped with a fitted sheet. A king-size double sleeping bag goes on top, regardless of whether Mr F is with me or not.

I find a sleeping bag gives me the choice of zipping up to keep the drafts out or giving my legs an airing, depending on the temperature.

I have a fleece hat/scarf thingy that I wear if I'm in a draft or if it's very cold, thermal pjs and a pair of fleece pjs. I pre-warm the bed with a hot water bottle and go to bed wearing the lot, if it's chilly, then peel off layers as I get warm.

The final addition is the dogs, who snuggle up and stop any drafts getting in.
