We are going away on the 30th October for a week, my birthday on the 2nd Nov, can't wait. This year though we have learnt a lot more and have got a small fan heater, so will be better.
Last year we called in at Whitby and the goth weekend was on, it was fantastic all the different costumes, loads of people dressed up including families from the grandparents down to the grandchildren, as well as the dogs.
We went to The Inside Park last year at oct half term and the weather was great - warm enough that there were people sunbathing on the beach at Weymouth - going to Hartsholme Country Park in Lincoln this year and can't wait!! Not really expecting a repeat of last tears weather but don't really care.

We used to live in walking distance to Hartsholme Country Park. Used to take the kids there on their bikes. It is beautiful in Autumn! Have a lovely time!

I finally got it all together, then forgot where I put it ;)
Off to Dunkirk on the 17th October for 5 nights with an old comrade. Got a new heater, since the last one died at Ganspette in September and taking my electric blanket!!! Who mentioned tough old soldiers?
I'm taking my two girls to Normandy for October half term. It's a gamble of course, and a long way to come back if the weather's awful and they want to chicken out! Still we've spent the same time of year many times in a 1970s bungalow in mid-Wales with the only heating being an ancient storage heater that gave out about as much warmth as a candle, so I reckon they're pretty hardened.
I'm less worried about the weather/temperature and more worried about filling the long evenings when it gets dark by 5.00pm. Campfires aren't allowed on the site I've chosen so we'll be pretty much confined to the tent. That's one reason why I've gone for EHU
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
